I'm also interested in a midi delay. I used to make a lot of use of the original one on Atari Cubase v1, and really liked the way that you could add or subtract time on each delay, nice for bouncing effects and stuff.

Any chance of building a replica of this sort of thing? I never used one on any vst version of cubase that worked as well as the atari versions, I really don't know why.

Here is a very simple panic button that sends an all notes off message (CC 123) on all channels. It is simply a wrapper of David Haupt's midi reset. Please leach it, host it call it yours what ever.

i have just found that forum, and it seems to be a good idea... !

I think nicfit already done such a delay:
look at the first one, in the top of the page ;)

NicFit's delay is very good, but it doesn't replicate the old cubase one at all. It can do transpose but not add/subtract time, and that's the bit I'm intersted in.

Cheers for the link though.

I made a little plug that smooths out CC movements.
If anyone would like to test it out:

I wanted to add a way to learn which CC's you are feeding but I can't get it done without NicFit's help

Any takers? Never saw this on the first page when I posted.

thats a cool one soma, ill get use for it somehow. :)

Um.. how do you subtract time from midi notes? I mean, if it hasn't occured yet... how does the effect know when it occurs to subtract time from it?

actually, this is rather nice. now i finally can make those elastic lfo's etc. wich ive been doin quite a lot in my cw modular for some time. makes nice efx. :)

It doesn't subtract from time... Then I be a real genius.
It has a modeled capacitor, so that the you set a time it takes to change from current value to new value.
And it is set up for CC's only (but you could change it into notes I guess with NicFit's midi munger, I don't think it would work too well though).

It's great. I like orange and black, and I like having my dynamic modulations smoothed even more.

Roben is it better w/ the seperate adjustments for up and down smoothing? I had more fun tweaking with it that way.

BTW because the down paramer is a multiplier (0-2), if you set the CC to INV in and INVERT out, you can have up to twice 1200 ms for up (if you intend on having the decay half as long); or you can have very short attacks and still have more than twice very short decays (because you set first knob to what you want the decay to be and then you can get a fraction of that for attack).

Couldn't find this by searching this thread - but here's an idea that I'd like to see implemented:

A midi velocity 'compressor', such that midi velocities up to a certain value are passed through un-touched, but above a certain value, can be scaled up or down by a multiplier.

I have a few piano sample sets that I just can't get the velocity curves right with my midi controller - They play fine soft and mid touch, but get squirrely loud with just a slightly heavier hand. I'd like to put a leash on that without killing the dynamics of the rest of the response.

Hopefully this made sense.

Check the first post, midi munger. ;)
