That ardour one looks like Protools!
Nice to see Linux is slowly getting the ball rolling for audio.

Ardour now makes Rosegarden look a little like a toy http://www.rosegardenmusic.com/
I had planned ages ago to install a Agnula partition for Linux audio work, but it never quite happened. http://www.agnula.org

Mmm.
The thing is Ardour and Rosegarden are two diferent apps.
Rosegarden is a sequencer, more capable than most paid for ones and Ardour is a multitrack recorder, not a sequencer. If you look at my thread in everything else and follow the link you will find out how to use vst's in linux as well.
What you need to remember though that music on linux is all very new, and yet within a year it will gone from nothing much to supporting 64bit as well. Thats linux for you, it is constantly being updated and improved. When you have 64bit+linux+music with sub millisecond latency not dependent on ASIO drivers, forget apple and microsoft as this will piss all over them.
Plus its free and to quote, "you are positivley encouraged to copy and redistribute this software". It just needs more musicians and programmers (native synths) to give it a boost.
As you can tell, I'm a convert and have now ditched windows.

I'm eagerly watching http://freebob.sourceforge.net/index.php/Main_Page
I wish I had have thought about linux when I bought my soundcard. Jackit and ALSA handle audio in such a useful way.
