DiscoDSP Discovery can import Nord Lead 2 banks AFAIK.

what do you mean "why?"? - because I haven't gat the $2400-ish it would cost to buy in England...

There isn't one; that's not to say there never will be. Clavia haven't broken into the software market yet.

but "why" do you want a NL3?? there is software that does the exact same thing, be it freeware or payware...it's all one's and zero's...

No disrespect snooky but by your logic why would anyone want one? I suppose someone who looks for plugins first would be less inclined to buy an outboard synth but Clavia must be shifting them.

Bearing in mind I know nothing of the NL3 I will shut up now.

i think i understand what snooky means: too much hype around this or that. if so then i agree with him...
on the other hand every vst instrument (like every dsp in an hardware synth) has his own method to put together those 1s and 0s...

...because I liked the sounds and...well, I liked the sounds and can't find the same sounds on any of the stuff I've got

I just can't afford the real thing - £1200-1300 is a lot to a student and seems pointless when I've got a computer and Emule running

Anyone know any good synths with a "vindaloo fart" sound preset?

No, the only VST which is near the NL2 is DiscoDSP. But, its not a 1:1 NordLead emulation. (I own a NL 2x and played with DiscoDSP)... No chance, the hardware is better.

But you can try the Novation "V-Station" or the Linplug "rob papen albino2".

Just buy the G2 modular from Nord. It will be as close as you can get to the sound.

Exactly..it's all about the friggin hype that manufacturers and devs shove down our throats.. "we need DSP cards, we need this synth and that sampler" it's all the same old tech anyways.

Why not put out many thousands of coins on something substantial like singing lessons or more and time spent actually trying to make and promote your music..it's all so effin hypocritcal imo. "Oh yeah, I got teh DSP card, I'm teh Pro produza!! ... - wtf, I have never heard a single tune from you??"

and addylewis, good luck finding your cracked version of a NL3!

Is there a Nord Lead 3 as a VSTi?
