Why not put out many thousands of coins on something substantial like singing lessons or more and time spent actually trying to make and promote your music..it's all so effin hypocritcal imo.
actually I really agree with you on this one! :-) - but don't go and start insulting people because of their gear-lust - gear-lust can be a good thing if it inspires you... (hell, as if I really would need even just a third of all the synth-plugins I own - not to speak about my ten guitars&basses...)

Jens, I have a friend that sometimes comes up to me and goes like "Oh my god, have you heard this new box!! OMGOMGOMG hardware is much better than software, and the next second..omg, I got the Amplitube craxk, software rules etc, etc..."

it's really annoying, just make some music damn it!!

That's why I get annoyed whenever there's a newbie that wants to sound like his or her's idol and starts posting about where to find software that will take the aformentioned newbie to instant stardom...silly aint it??

snooky wrote:but "why" do you want a NL3?? there is software that does the exact same thing, be it freeware or payware...it's all one's and zero's...
i strongly doubt you ever had a chance to dig a nl3, based on your statement ... :-o
it`s one of the most unique synths ever made.
nothing sounds like a nl3.

Well, you're the first one who mentions stardom and stuff in this thread, aren't you? ;-)

nope, I have tried a NL3 (in a shop tho) and I loved it..BUT, there is software that does more or less the same thing, and if you really want THE sound of a NL3, then you only have 1 (one) option..aight?

generalising a bit, true..but Jens, as a regular, how many posts about "I wanna make phat beats like this and that, and I wanna sound like Cheer etc etc" have you read..I 'm guessing alot...I belive that a majority of people into music have some wet dream about being famous (me included  )

understandable ... ;)

proove me that.
the nl3 has very unique filters (not even close to comparable withe filters of the nl2), a count of morphing stages that never have been implemented even close into a vsti (exept the "discovery", and that`s based on a nordlead2, so not even close to a nl3) ulta fast env`s, completeley 96khz aliase free osc`s etc, etc ... show me the vsti that is capable of the extreme of a nl3.
i`ll buy it, whatever it costs.
and then i have to think of how to get a cpu from the cia or the pentagon to run it ...

well, that was the case with the minimoog, the cs80, the ms20, the wavestation, the m1 ... etc ...

indeed - I'm not sure this is one of them though...

fine! if you would sell your soul for a NL3 vst, then it's your decision....I'm happy with my free software.

Mmh... don't forget, the most thing people like at hardware is not the better sound, but rather the blinking lights and buttons :)
the feel of the surface, the easy way to change parameters... The success of the Nord Lead is a success of the easy handling surface with clear parameters.

Technical, the Access Virus eats the Nord Lead ;)
But with most good VSTs like the z3ta, albino, pentagon, absynth... you have a more versatile tools as a nord lead.

Well I have a Nord Lead 3 and a Virus C and they compliment each other very well - both have a unique sound. I'd say that neither eats the other.

can someone explain me why synth 1 is allways compared to the nl1? i mean, it`s a great, easy to use little synth and i love it, but what makes the nl series so unique is the easy to use morphing capabilities, beside it`s own soundcharacter. synth 1 has nothing to do with a nl at all, exept "some" of the nl inspired signal flow. but if it`s about that, there are a lot other synths out. synth 1 sounds completely different to any nl. again, it`s great, especially compared to it`s cpu hunger, but has nothing to do with the sound of a nl at all. or did i miss something?

I have a NL3 and the thing that makes it interesting to me isn't so much the sound but the brilliant interface. Easily the most intuitive and spontaneous synth interface I've seen.

You'd lose this in a software version.
