Haven't seen this one mentioned on KvR. German soundware developer Chris Hein has announced his upcoming brass library Chris Hein Horns Vol 1. It contains solo alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, trombone and a trumpet section, all extensively sampled with lots of different articulations and up to 20 velocity layers.

There are also controllers for things like breathiness, growl and vibrato. It uses the Kontakt Player engine and will be available in November. More details and some mp3 demos at http://www.chrishein.net/sl_seiten/sl_s ... hhsite.htm

The demos sound nice but I wonder just how playable this library is - in addition to the controllers mentioned there are also up to 44 articulations that are instantly available using a combination of key-switches and mod wheel.

The price tag is also pretty hefty: $423.
