Wasn't there something by FXPANSION that tied, linked two computers?

FX Teleport is what you are looking for..

MidiOverLan
FX-Teleport
Wormhole
vstnetmid
Midi over TCP
netmidi

That's a start. Some are MIDI-only ... some are audio-only ... some ship both MIDI and audio via TCP. Depending on what you want to do, one of them can probably help you out.

Yes this was the otherone...

am interested in it...now to see if they still have the demo...

Also, what can you guys tell me about Software Soft Limiting found in Apogee, Saffire, and a few other devices at the AD/DA stage? Can the waves plugin MUSICIAN bundle do the same thing in SX (cubase)...
Also read that Saffire has some cool templates and was wondering how cool they are and what is needed to re-create those using something like a Motu Traveller or similar.

The other idea was, I was looking for a device that I could swap between laptop and desktop, but then last night I realized that could use something like FX teleport and use the laptop to connect to my workstation and not run out of power! :D as well as access BFD on faster drives via teleport right?

Do the programs have to be installed on both machines?

thanks again...will read more about it, so maybe that is a premature question.

thanks!
