What kind of effect can we expect?
I'm hoping for a really good Lofi effect as there doesn't really seem to be any, or at least not any I like.

Sticking kicks through the SimulAnalog stuff is nice.
Works well on complete breaks as well.

Depends on what kind of sound you want. I'm inclined to use one or more of:
Soundhack +decimate
arcDev Ghidrah (for madness)
Betabugs SimpleSqueeze
BJ Lofi
BJ Wavechanger
Classic Master Limiter
dblueClipper
Tobybear Decimator
CamelAudio FMCrusher
Fruity Blood Overdrive
Fruity Waveshaper
Retordion
Saro
Square-o-matic
Tiny Distort
VCS Reducer 2

i have trouble with distortion on drums - it makes everything very messy.
Bit reduction on the other hand works excellently (for me)

Short decay times (or a noise gate with a high threshhold) might help with that.
Kick drums with long tails can get very nasty when bit-reduced too (which is sometimes a good thing). I will typically whack the tail off early so it's all nice and crispy.

And strangely enough, Cyanide works quite well too. Not the full on distortion stuff, but because its waveshaping is so user-definable, you can set really mild distortion. It's often surprised me how subtle Cyanide can be if not overdone.

I was just about to say how suprised I was no-one had yet mentioned Cyanide, until I saw your post at the bottom.
Anyway, another recommendation on that. You can get some great results with Cyanide.
