I've updated my website (at last) with a page for my mappings: index page. As it says on the page, anyone who spots a problem with the mappings, let me know. Salvador, let me know if I need to add anything to the page, too, please.

you're the welcome pd! glad to hear you like'em.

:) It's all good! The only thing to correct is the name.. is like this....
Short: "G&SCW" - "GSCW"
Long: "G&S Custom Works"

Thanx for the sfz....I'm testing the SFz Files..
Kit #1
(D1)Snare drum: I feel a little gap.. like a missing sample... but I'm sure that its a very small gap between samples.. The gap is around the low velocities. I know it is hand.. to map with so many layers... 8)

I checked my HALion patch to see if it was my fault but it is ok!! no gaps...

Thanks Salvador -- spotted it and fixed. That's the problem with manually typing everything in! New version on the website now. (It's also the problem with not having played Kit 1 very much...)

You've done a great work there Peter. I had a problem with the "one shot" loop mode missing in some earlier version of kit2 but I saw that you 've fixed it now. I was trying to understand what leveler is but now is clear (see comments in sfz files).

BTW I've played a bit more with your kits Salvador and all I can say is ... wow!!! Thanx a million.
If I go insane, please don't put your wires in my brain

The general idea for the "next step" is to work out what difference in volume is (according to Leveler) between each layer and then make sure sfz is applying the appropriate attenuation so that the lowest volume for a layer is just above the highest volume for the layer below it. This can be achieved by amp_velcurve_nnn=m.mmm - where "nnn" is the hivel of the lower layer and m.mmm is the factor that gives the right attenuation when plugged into sfz's processing. The idea is to eliminate any noticable "stepping" in the volume between velocity layers. But I couldn't notice any (on Kit 2), so I didn't bother! :D

Yes, please. I'd like that :)

pljones: Your page isn't working for me right now, so I can't access your .sfz files. Is there a problem or is it just me?

[edit]

Aaaaaaand now it works. Don't mind me.

These drums sound pretty good! Closer to a studio sound than the similarly free NS_Kit, which seems more tailored to "jam band" type music.

Hey all. I really like the sound of this kit. The only problem is that I use FL Studio, and the soundfont version sounded a little different. Somebody mentioned an FPC version. That would be very much appreciated! I was wondering about the SFZ format, can that be played using the sfz vst? If so, how would one go about it?

Thanks a bunch for the kits, Salvador!

EDIT: Excuse me. I did some research and found out how to use the sfz files. Thank you so much everybody for making this possible!

Download the samples. Download the sfz format mapping. If you get my one, just put the "sfz" folder alongside the kit folders. (Spe3d's is a little more work.) Load up sfz. Load up the sfz format map.

HEY! Guys! 8)
I'm re-mapping to HALion1.0.3 for more compatibility with importing to other formats.

KIT #2 is almost done: HALion 1.0.3

ALSO! I re-maned all the samples to prevent errors while importing...
I used cap letters and underscore. That should work... V01_TFLM_10 ..... etc.
These new patches will come with re-named samples.
PLEASE GUYS! NOTICE the HALion 1.0.3 patches won't work with the previews samples of HALion2.0.3.5...

SO, As soon as Pet gives the ok, we'll have a better chance to import to that KONTAKT trouble maker..

I have no problems with HALion and funny names...
BOY some softsamplers are very dum'...

AN So I start on the task of SAMPLING the PLATINUM KITS
HOT RODS - COOL!
BRUSHES (wish me luck),
2 more Snare drums- BRONCE 5X13 and STEEL 5X14
A trash Snare drum 3X12 - for the fun of it!
A 16X18 Kick Drum - Custom made
My Maple CW SD with even more cool samples. New HEADs
More Cymbal Performances.
A CHINA Cymbal
3 or 4 TOM TOMs
Etc...

But it is gonna be for sell now. "Download"
SO...! I'm keeping my original idea of making the drum kits small yet awesome to play with.
48khz-32bit recording - down to 44khz 16bit for even smaller samples.
DUE next year... Can't say exact date because these are gonna be for sell with a good web sample store.
HALIon, BATTERY, KONTAKY, SF.

SO.. GOD Willing, I'm onto the task..

See you soon!

Sounds cool Giro best wishes,
Reducing to 16 bit sounds like a good idea, that way those of us without disc streaming can still have very detailed kits.
Why not have independent distrobution though?(lower product price and more money for you) You might want to talk to manytone he is experienced with that http://www.manytone.com/ . I don't know but maybe you can get enough exposure through forums and mag reviews.Just an idea
Cheers

In my experience you get a lot more noise when using compressors and 16 bit samples. The noise floor is higher so the decay of a tom or kick - especially on the quieter, low velocity samples - gets more obviously noisy. When you use multiple outputs with compression and Eq to get the sound you want the noise from each output channel adds up unfortunately.

The new platinum kits sound tasty Giro - bring em on.
;-)
