I was lucky enough to use a Pro Studio at a Production School in NY. They had ST2 with all the expansions. QUESTION...

In the Sampletank sound list for the PIANO COLLECTION it list the sound list as...

1. A Nice Stnwy D
2. Concerto Practic
3. Darkway Pno

and so forth.

But in the actual ST2 VST, after A NICE STNWY D comes A YAM GRAND 52 and there is no Concerto Practice or Darkway Pno. What is going on here? Does anyone know the comparison between the list and the actual sounds?

Hello Kim,

I am not in the same studio now but there was NO arrow next to A Nice Stnwy D which is the first preset. How can you check the CHILD presets? Im under the assupmtion that there is supposed to be an arrow next to the preset and then a couple of sounds that make up the larger one. Is this how it works? Thanks.

What I meant was that Concerto Practice or Darkway Pno might be child presets, which would be why they're not immediately visible. I can check for you if you want, but I can't do it right at this moment (packing up for the night).

Thats what I was trying to say in a weird way. You say "immediately visible"... meaning? Is there any way to access those individual "children". Please advise once you get the chance. If you look at the sound sheet and then open ST youll clearly see what I mean. Thanks.

I just checked - Concerto Practice and Darkway Pno are child presets of A Nice Stnwy D. Click the black arrow next to the "A Nice Stnwy D" text and the additional child presets should be revealed.

They arent revealed. And there is no arrow next to any of the presets. Is there a setting that is not right? I wont be back to that studio until later tonight but I am sure that there was no child presets being shown. What could be wrong? Thanks.

If there's no arrow, then it sounds like there's something wrong with the installation. Maybe you're missing some files, or maybe they're in the wrong place. All the files should be in one folder on your hard drive (not subfolders). Try installing the files again from the CD.

This pro studio probably has the previous version of Piano Collection (ver. 1) that didn't have the child presets. You should pick up your own copy where you are licensed to use it for your own music anyway. Try www.esoundz.com and the Expansion Tank series. The child presets will be there. Enjoy!
