I had a musicmaster for a long time. They were made late-60's early 70's. Mine was a short-scale. I'm not sure whether or not they were made full-scale or not. Congrats on your new bass, Tim! I wonder how long will it take you to realise that four strings is really not enough on a bass and that frets suck 
Took me around a year for the earlier and next 5 for the latter (though I am starting to consider getting a fretted 6-string again... that and a double bass 
)
As for real bass on my tunes, my fretless can be heard here (warning, freejazz-ish) and here (track done using just bass sounds).

well..since we are talking about basses, I get to tell a story.
When I was in High school in McLean Virginia ( USA:-)I had a band consisting of myself and two brothers: Michael and Doug. We played a few places, and did a recording of original material, pretty jazzy and tight for that time in High school. Michael played Bass ( he was only 12 or 13 at the time) and his brother Doug played drums. Then I moved to California with my folks, and had a happy life
However fairly recently just learned that Michael ( the bass player) became famous in his own right, played on numerous windham hill records, was proclaimed best player many times in Bass player magizine and has worked with all the greats, especially in his latest solo stuff, and is still going. ( see the latest issue of Bassist) He is of course, Micheal Manring.( http://www.manthing.com)
A little while ago, he was playing a concert in my area( doing his latest LOOP stuff) and I got to meet him again, and he remebered me well, and we had a good repor. I also have been in tabs with his brother Doug. Turned out he got into Guitar as well, and has serval self produced albums, really excellent stuff.

Nice bass! I'm saving up for some stringed instruments again myself, since nobody is crazy enough to give me one (lol)!
