Phew...

Ok Im a Komplete2 and Komplete Care05 customer - I have ALL the soundlines except Kontact Experience.

I cant find update prices for K2 & KC05 - > K3 & KC06.

So I worked ou for what Im interested in from N.I. (after bying K2 & KC05 lastyear):

NI KOMPLETE CARE 2005 -> NI KOMPLETE 3 - 199
KOMPLETE CARE 2006 - 249
RIG KONTROL 2 - 339
KONTAKT Experience - 99
Total - 886

Thats a BIG chunk of my software buget for the year... for a controller, 2 additions to the package I already have, a soundbank and updates.

Now I'm confused...

As an owner of Komplete 2, Komplete Sound 1, Komplete Care and Guitar Rig 1, what should I do?

Update from Komplete Sound 1 to Komplete Sound 2: 99 Euro

Update from Guitar Rig to Guitar Rig 2: 99 Euro

Update from Komplete 2 to Komplete 3: 299 Euro
Update from Komplete Care 2005 to Komplete 3: 199 Euro
(includes Guitar Rig 2 Software, so above update from
Guitar Rig 1 to 2 would be obsolete...)

Update from Komplete Care 2005 to Komplete 3 and Komplete Care 2006: 419 Euro
Komplete Care 2006 Intro Price: 249 Euro

Where's my calculator???

Think I'm inKomplete now...

One can only hope that N.I. can see how many disgruntled KC2005 owners there are and get their act together.

Gitar Rig 2 update
The new B4II update
Electric Piano
The absynth update
Battery 2 update

Come on, thats not bad for 125 quid, I've ordered but I won't go the Komplete Care route again, I'll just wait for Komplete 4!

Where do you get the 125 quid figure from? KC05 + K2 -> K3 is $229 or €199 at the NI site?

Holy smokes...the prices in the shop are NOT the same as are listed on the product page...!!! KC2005 -> K3 is indeed €119...

I agree - its GREAT vaule for some folks...

For me 199 gets me Ep and Guitar Rig 2 - 99 more for the Kontakt Lib... fine!

But Im a giging guitarist GR2 would be useless to me without the FloorBoard + 339

And as I have KC05 and was happy with it - KC06 + 249

Thats a big chunk o change in anyones money...

For me its like this - not interested in EP - interested in GR2 + Controller, interested in Kontakt Lib and updates. So even tho I bought almost everything N.I. fired out lastyear for me to do the same this year is gonna hit me for 889 Euro!

now i'm confused. i am also a Komplete2 and Komplete Care 2005 owner.

you already get the absynth3 and battery2 update for owning Care 2005. since B4 II is to ship in november, it appears us Komplete Care 2005 owners should get that for free also.

so all that you get for updating to Komplete 3 is Guitar Rig2 (software only) and Electrik Piano (from your list above). maybe that is still ok, but the other things you list you already are entitled to without spending another dime.

am i wrong?

Yup, EP and GR2 only, and no updates in 2006 unless you also go for KC06. But since I already own GR1 with the Rig Kontrol I might just need the software version of GR2.

But frankly I don't need EP...maybe I'll stick with GR1, K2 and get a KC2006 instead...hm...

I cot Komplet Care 2005 came after Batt2 and Absynth 3 (2004)so didn't get them- (they were offered at the Komplet care price of 99E for the update...glad I waited!

oh, i see.

man, this is complicated. every single customer probably has a somewhat unique upgrade path...

so, after establishing that, it appears we are in a similiar situation at least.

so what do you reckon the value of Komplete Care 2006 would actually bring us?

Why, another beautiful NI box on your shelf and an utterly useless plastic card. And hopefully a bunch of upgrades...which likely won't pay off in the end...

i don't think this is right. KC2006 only entitles you to upgrades released during 2006.

so you would need to upgrade to Komplete 3 to pick up the updates released in 2005.

i think.

I have Komplete 2 and Komplete Kare 2005..I have no interest in Guitar Rig and the EP..I'm perfectly happy with the way B4 works now; although if the new version comes out this year we should be entitled to it.

So if you're happy with what you've got in Komplete 2, but still want the upgrades in 2006, this is the one for you. At least, that's how I understood it. Then again, maybe I'm just confused.

If you go for this one, you won't get Electric Piano or Guitar Rig 1 & 2. Only updates to the original Komplete 2 line of products.

NI new stuff & Komplete Care 2006
