How to solve this stuffed nose vocal

If the tracks you start out with suck soundwise, no amount of mucking about with plug-ins can save you. It will still be trying to polish a turd.

Just use a decent soundcard and a condenser mic with a nice pre-amp (there are relatively cheap and decent options) and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble and frustration when you regularly record audio (voice of instrumentents)

Thanks all for the replies. But you guys aren't getting my concern, probably I explained the problem in a wrong/incomplete way.

I'm using some effects processing that causes some noise (granular and such). After that, I really need to apply a noise reduction system.

When I apply that noise reduction, it seems that the sound has a pre echo/delay, that I can't get rid off.

The most effective noise reduction for my application is X-noise.

Maybe other noise reduction plugin? I need it realtime.

And you're apparantly not getting my awnser. It sounds like you're doing something basically wrong in the recording itself but there's no way telling what excactly if we don't know your signal path (for instance, what are those effects you use in processing that cause this noise ?)
and an mp3 of the track would also help in awnsering.

It's really garbage in garbage out. You seem to be hoping someone will name THE magical plug-in which will make it sound like a pristine recording. That's not going to happen.

But I was able to solve the problem by reducing the noise reduction and with proper EQ.

Pluginnow: I got a little trick for you to try.. get the FREE DEMO version of renovator from algorithmix..

create a loop back in your audio chain (take the out and plug it back into your in).. open renovator.. YOU CAN NOW EDIT YOUR FREQUENCY DOMAIN (JUST THE SOUNDS NOISE OR CLICKS ETC) JUST LIKE IN ADOBE AUDITION (who stole this technology from who??).. then simply record it back into either free audacity or another editor of your choice..

duncanparsons: Allz I gotta say is eeewwwwww that is nasty.. for 1 the factory ad/da converters that come with the laptop are FVKING gross man.. even if you record and convert back to your u((s)low)b bandwidth you know what your audio is still going to sound eaten digested loggd dumped and flushed... I DEMAND that if you have a pcmcia slot GET AT LEAST AN ECHO INDIGO or better yet a 1394 adaptr and an M-AUDIO fw solo (cheap alternatives).. dayum what ever you do NEVER BURN A CD OR PRESS VINYL have some symapthy on innocent ears...

Pretty much all of the items I've posted in Music Cafe, especially the contests have vox recorded this way - and noone noticed

I did have (until it was stolen) an outbound USB unit, but it sucked.. it would glitch very badly, and I would have to go in and sew up the recorded audio with each take: it was easier to do it the old way! I have burnt the odd CD, and it's all OK - a touch of compression and reverb and it covers a multitude of sins, especially when in the context of a mix. Exposed can sound odd, but in context it's fine..

Other than that, yes I agree
