Let us all bash Theo. He's arrogant. I'll bash bunch
of my friends cus they like Logic therefor they use
Macs. And I'll beat the shit out of my boss cus he
got bunch of dual Xeon machines for video/audio
postproduction. Now I know he is lousy unprofesionall
bastard. I mean, we all know that preferences
regarding OS and CPUs make u a decent human being,
right ?

Now, these guys seem to like it, sort of:
http://gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?t=45094
and one even posted example of ssl used in mix:
http://www.djadamjay.com/files/drumzizez.mp3
How ever, dont forget to login there and explain
to those arogant people how annoying is their
decison to run protools on their macs. Even more
slappy are those guys that use actuall mixing desks
and analog recorders. Now, thats a HUGE slap in the face
of all of us that like amd driven Windose !
best wishes and merry new year

oh well, Snooky-boy - your logic is pretty much flawed these days...snooky wrote:well theo, it's your choise innit? you don't have to have a mac...no? making this mac only is a hugely arrogant slap in the face to all professionals using AMD pc's (for example) ...and that's why 'tis annoys me.ttoz wrote:that's a pretty poor attitude, since us mac users have about a tenth of the variety to choose fro nthat win users havesnooky wrote:uhm..why no PC..oh, I forgot...NO Pro's Use Pc's ...IDIOT S.S.L ...the can fcuk themselfs silly for not making this both PC and Mac...

hehe, has my logic ever been right? I'm a wanker no?? btw, I'm on logic to (5.51) and I'm not bitter, I'm just a little bit annoyed about the elitism that these big hardware companies go with...it's totally disgusting.

Me humbly thinks no elitism, those companies are
market driven carnivorus beasts. I sincerly think
that SSLs cheefs would give their daughters to devil
if they could sell 1000s of desks at wall marts instead.
Me think elitistic part is driven by audio folks not
secure enough in their skills ( therefor in their
job perspective ) so they push that u-need-2-million-$-
of-equipment-to-make-records story around.

yup... there's a review for it now:
guitar junkie wrote: Very nice compresser! its a very nice remake of a classic piece of gear that most of us will never get to use in our own studio until now! great for work with drums and bass also works well with softer vocals to ad a little punch to them cleans up nice and has a shiny GUI that makes it a joy to use. i found it rather easy to over use the compression though and that a little goes a long way in just crushing a wave form to death! so make sure that you do not over use this tool. after all its only another tool in your collection of VST plugs. i am waiting to see if they make any more plugs after this one myself cheers!
the reason the sound is rated so low is that its so easy to over do this thing.
features aer nice and simple no frills.
i never messed with the manual for it.
no presets.
customer suport was simple when i had to register the download. but then again i had to wait for emails to come through so i docked points for that.
value? its FREE!
its very stable and i have not had a crash yet in tracktion 2.

Either this guy has serious ear problems or a totally different taste and perception of what people normally understand from such words or the audio example we were presented is seriously misleading.
Best wishes, FRitz

I finally tried this thing..... and while it sounds crap on guitars it just sounds lovely on vocals.... it's that LoFi sound I've been searching for so long... will try drums next.....

okay not too convinced with the drum compression.... it steals too much lows but for vocals I simply love it
