The "official" SX3 crossgrade price is $399.00, I think that includes the usb dongle too. That is what the retailers seem to be selling it for:

well.... it's true.
For me SONAR is superior in every respect to Cubase.
I've tried to like Cubase but I just don't like it.
It's old and tired and has a clunky unintuitive interface.
Just setting up a VST is a major PITA.
Besides ....Cakewalk are relatively nice people and they
even help new users on their forum.
Not like the Borg who run the Steinberg
forum.

For me SONAR is superior in every respect to Cubase.

Not to debate but: can you control vst effects with midi automation? How are the sonar envelopes even if you could?
