- Steinberg charges the same, whether you upgrade from SX1 or SX2.
- SX3 has been out some time now, SX4 can't be that far away IMHO
sx3.2 comes out in december - a xmas pressire - so sx 4 won;t be before that

annoncement at NAMM next year with a release in march seems about right
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Ah, so it'll freeze, say, the comp but not the eq? Have I got that right? Just one FX per channel strip then the rest run as usual??

It may still do the trick... I'm lucky enough to have some AWESOME fx that I usually have to limit to just vocals. If I could run every track through my plush vintage(ish) compressors it'd be sweet!

Hi

There is a special freeze plug in fxfreeze that you can place last in the channel strip rack. When you freeze the plug records the track into a file. The recommended procedure is to play the track while recording in real time. But it is also possible to
bounce the track using Cubase bounce function while recording to the fxfreeze plug. The fxfreeze does not indicate in Cubase what tracks are frozen, except in the plug itself. But you can eg manually mark the track name with *. At playback the
file is played back by the plug.

But just as with Cubase internal freeze, the freezing is limited to one freeze per channel strip and it is not possible to freeze multiple parts on one track (channel strip).

Bob, you are right.
I should have RTFM, which says:
"During the installation of FXF, 3 special plug-ins, called Track Freeze Mono, Track Freeze Stereo and Track Freeze 5.1 are placed into your VST folder. These plug-ins can be used as both inserts and sends for freezing of audio streams."
