Logic does everything I want her to do and she looks very sexy too !

Another vote for logic. Best automation bar none.

Automation in Acid Pro 5 is good as well, except that you can't overlay them on MIDI tracks. I swear, I would use nothing but Acid if I could do that. Grrr, Sony, I hate you!

Ya'll are making me nervous. ;) I'm a longtime Logic user and certainly enjoy the automation in v5 (don't know how it advanced since). I honestly didn't realise that other hosts were still lagging in comparison, considering it's now a few years old. And now I'm in the process of changing hosts.

I'm most likely going to move to Live, where I have been using some automation. It hasn't seemed too limiting to me yet, but I haven't tried anything as complex as some of my work in Logic. The clip envelopes do look very inviting to me, though.

Compared to logic's midi edition, Live is quite limited, don't you think you'll ahve a hard time dealing with that ?

Yep, which is exactly why I'm still keeping my eyes on Sonar and Cubase. I just really like the clean interface of Live :) I realise I will lose a tonne of features from Logic - the kind that people consider part of it's "bloat", as so many have been added over the last, what, 15 years?

I still haven't learnt any of the keyboard commands for MIDI editing in Live, and it's a f**king pain in the ass right now to use. I'm also having difficulty understanding the timeline shown in the MIDI editor - after recording MIDI parts, it often does not correspond in any way to the main timeline or to the start of the clip.
