The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Indeed, quiet on the Eastern one as well mate!
*Except for the blasted dust storms coming in from Mongolia today.
George, is it possible to set up a stats report at some future point for the websites? You know, to tell us what kind of hit count, global visitors, etc., & stuff for marketing purples?
Cheers,
Alex

He's on vacation with Jason, the dude who helped us out when Kovacs was ill. I have a line open to his wife, so he's still within shouting distance. If anyone needs to contact kovacs for any reason, then let me know. Speaking of which, a little birdy told me of some more preorders.
More soon...

I am reading the bios and I am absolutely floored by the talent and diversity represented here. It's stunning.
Just thinking things through, we have:
a very worthy and important cause;
a fantastic compilation;
fabulous artwork;
professional website;
funds management;
fantastic developers' sponsorship;
mastering lab;
diligent, steady support crew;
a duplication factory;
a distributor;
a remarkable and thus eminently marketable story as to how all this effort came about;
Planet Earth as a playground;
What more could we wish?
MORE PREORDERS!!

Short answer: Yes....xander wrote:George, is it possible to set up a stats report at some future point for the websites? You know, to tell us what kind of hit count, global visitors, etc., & stuff for marketing purples?
Long answer: Kovacs will be hosting, right? He should have some kind of log or stats for the site. I am not an expert in that stuff. I know there are plenty of tools for analyzing that stuff - but it's enough for me to keep up with design issues...

a worthy friend just sent this to me...
"Theirs [the Beatles] is a happy, cocky, belligerently resourceless brand of harmonic primitivism... In the Liverpudlian repertoire, the indulgent amateurishness of the musical material, though closely rivaled by the indifference of the performing style, is actually surpassed only by the ineptitude of the studio production method. “Strawberry Fields” suggests a chance encounter at a mountain wedding between Claudio Monteverdi and a jug band." – Glenn Gould
"Wagner's music is better than it sounds." – Mark Twain
"When she started to play, Steinway himself came down and rubbed his name off the piano." – Bob Hope, on Phyllis Diller
"My sole inspiration is a telephone call from a producer." – Cole Porter
I worry that the person who thought up Muzak may be thinking up something else. – Lily Tomlin
"Hell is a half-filled auditorium." – Robert Frost
"I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to." – Elvis Presley
"Anything that is too stupid to be spoken is sung." – Voltaire
