Hi again,

My Miroslave is waiting for me at the local post office. All I gotta do is give the Canadian government $61 and I can take it home. How'd that happen?

Anyway, I am putting Miroslav on a laptop. Before too long I hope to double the size of my hard-drive as many new products are getting so much larger. (I've tried this cream but it does nothing) Will I have the option of making my authorization contingent upon something other than the hard-drive or will I be wasting one rather quickly?

Post

Yo fellow pinko of the north.

RE Customs: Since it's a software product it qualifies for taxes at the border.

RE The cream: You are too hilarious

RE Your hardrive: I have no clue what you're talking about. can you try to reword that?
ok let me try this. If you put the sounds on an external hardrive you will be fine as long as you point miroslav plugin's root folder to that other folder. It's the plugin itself that uses the authorization if i am correct. Keep the plugin installed on your main HD. maybe someone can come in and help me here

Post

I believe Mr. Tunes has it right. You authorize the plug not the sounds.
Canadians everywhere! :D

he assumes that his machine will have a new harware ID after changing the HD and therefore he'll have to get an new authorisation code. Is the harware ID derived from the HD? Then, he's right.

No. In fact, on www.esoundz.com International shipping for Miroslav is free. But, in some places around the world you may get charged customs. That's out of our hands.

!@%$# customs. They stopped our Greyhound for 2 hours on the way to Seattle, all for complete BS. Bastards.

ha well keep in mind you were dealing with the worst border patrol in N.A. :)

Isuppose you can ask esoundz not to include the cardbox, just the manual and the DVDs and but that into a small envelop. That way you chances increase that they won't put their geedy hands on it. ;)

To answer one of the original questions, upgrading your hard drive will not invalidate your Miroslav Philharmonik installation. For Philharmonik, the hardware ID is based on the USB key, so you can upgrade your computer (or even buy a new computer) as much as you like! :)

Thanks for all your input. Once I got the manual this morning (the invoice says the $61 is for sales tax) I was able to see that it was using the Syncrosoft system which is pretty clever.

However, as I wait for Miroslav to load, I have noticed that the installer CD has only put the manuals in an IK folder in my program files. It appears there is no plug-in or anything in the Cubase VSTi list. I was able to install the USB license and the drivers. Did something go wrong?

It's the price of living in a place where a liberal mindset isn't regarded as a disease.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The Conservative party almost won the last election.

Damn, what was the manner of the charges and where did you order from? You always have to pay GST, but if the product is made in North America, there should be no tarriffs. Also if you are unfortunate enough to ship with UPS, they will gouge the hell out of you for brokerage fees based on the value of the item. Canada Post just charges a $5 fee plus GST.

Duty! Schmooty! I always factor that in.

Hey Bobby Hull! Cool sig - one of the few names in the game I've ever heard of outside of the Richard bros that is.

Canada is great place to live- Not too hot in summer and pleasantly cool and white in winter. Plus we have universal health care.
