The wife wants to listen to her music while she is in the kitchen and I want to listen to mine in the living room, we have only one stereo and one music software and I don't wish to have to purchase another music software and another stereo, is it possible to play one folder of songs [say, Disco] in one room and another folder [say, Rock] in a different room in the same house but both coming from the same pc? If so, how? Thanks

don't know how you'd go about handling it, but I've got a song playing in winamp, and another in mplayerclassic at the same time.

I was thinking of using 2 separate music programs but how can I route each program to different speakers? Then would I need 2 soundcards or can I run 2 programs using one soundcard?

playing 2 different songs from same pc?
