I take it the rules mean that you can't record your vocals over the top of the piece you put together.

Pity - will look at the samples tonight - see if it all looks exciting.

Junebug,

Is it ok to upload to Auditorium? I dont have anywhere else to upload to at present.

Let me know if thats cool, and I'll get my funky little nu skool / d&b mix up asap!

PS. I think you'll be a fan of the granular pad I create out of the vocal samples

Sure you can, mate!

and you can even release that track on a commercial project -- you just cant enter the 'vocal version' into the SampleRemix.com contest.

mixdown a version of your track with no vocals and enter that!

I had some fun with the bass patch in eXT's sampler, but unfortunately the application crashed before I could save it. :(

Working on some beatslicing at the moment and seeing if I can accidentally stumble upon a rythm I like.

JB,

Great stuff, I'll send it over. In order to minimise the size of the file, Iv faded in the start and end, cutting the length down by about 30s. File is now 3.8MB so that should go over the email ok I think.

Gotta say - I'm kinda enjoying this.

I've never actually tried something like this before - restricting myself to a small set of samples to create a whole track.

It's quite an interesting exercise.

Done the basis for a track, but just want to know if I can load a sample into Symptohm or Cameleon, or does that count as illegal synth usage??
Want to change your additive synth into an addictive one? You just need 5000 Cs!
