Almost all the demos were done with the clean version and an amp sim. The hard drive space is more managageable if you just get the clean or distorted verion, rather than both.

wow - I'm a bit surprised to hear that because the "demos" lead you to believe that's the sound you're going to get without additional processing. If they used additional processing on certain tracks I would like to know about it before I buy. I was expecting to be able to build trax like the demos without investing in additional FX processors (at god knows what cost?) Can anyone who has used this library please confirm?
One their demo page, they list which version was used, as well as the effects used. They basically used Guitar Rig (not Guitar Rig 2) on most of the distorted demos. All the info is there.

I like Lyrical Distortion, but for my taste, it needs added distortion in most cases anyway, but maybe that's just me.

By the way, you can get excellent amp sims, like Guitar Suite, for free.

Great Thread! After hearing the LPC demos with Guitar Rig, there's no going back for me. That's the ticket on the group buy. I figure the clean version is best as most of the demos are the clean w/Guitar Rig and they're excellent. I thought about getting Guitar Rig anyway after I tried the demo. The 1st version of Guitar Rig's pretty cheap now that 2 is out.

Lyrical Distortion's my next pick, but didn't quite do it for me. Some of those demos sound too fake, and I know that's a function of the player...but really...fake. Plus, LPC on the group buy for clean is not much more than LD.

Tony, I am tempted to pick up Guitar Rig (1) if it availably cheaply. Have you seen a good deal anywhere?
