hi there..I found a site a while ago that had a free Speak and spell reason refill for download, I think there was also a refill that contained the sounds from lots of classic beat box's. Trouble is..Ive got reason now but cant find the site :( anyone know which site its on? a link would be great :)

Thanx
I took a sawtooth wave off this Pantomime4, looped it back, mixed it with the sound of this crab committing suicide and let it stew in its own reverb for about 3 hours, then I pumped it all out through this shoe to give it that oak'y timbre.

I know that Steve had some on Hollow Sun before the free library was withdrawn. I might be wrong but Dangerous Bear had some of those samples as authorised ReFills for download. It may be there ?

I don't specifically recall the Speak and Spell from the Hollow Sun ReFill which is currently not available, but that ReFill was meant to be comprehensive of the online library as of January of this year so it must have been in it.

However, I was working with those samples recently so if there is an interest in those sounds for Reason, something might be arranged.

Thanx so much, that would be great :)...

Also , am I right in thinking that you could make one of the early computers speak with that same synthetic voice? I think it was called the TI-99 or something? and is it possible to get an emulator for the PC? ...I had a speak and spell when I was a kid and Ive only recently rediscovered how cool it sounds lol..its just so toy robot/kraftwerky sounding. :). I stumbled across this site once where some guy had "circuit bent" one (whatever that means :D ) and had all kinds of weird electronic sounds coming out of the thing...inevitably some of the sounds where a bit head ache inducing but I bet it would be fun to mess with stuff like that

i know i downloaded this (the hollow sun S&S set) and checked it out, and ever since i saw the first post about this, I've been thinking about where i put it... I looked and unfortunately I can't find it. :-(

I've been backing up and deleting lately so I may have gotten rid of it or it may be on a DVD somewhere, I'll keep looking.

If I do i'll definitely post.

The Amiga's had a built in speech synthesizer with user variable parameters for the voice (tone, speed, etc). You could quite easily get an Amiga emulator and sample from there. I remember the computer actually came with a complete guidebook for how to spell phonetically for it to improve quality!

thanx Ill look into it. Did the voice sound similar to speak and spell?
