So, a friend of mine and I are plotting a fairly sizeable halloween liquerfest... (odd since I am pretty much straight edge...) However, I am plotting out a bunch of tracks to play out for the evening.. probably going to bring a couple smallish PA speakers, my amps and a laptop with Live... so here is my list so far (in no particular order):

Untitled 5 - Richard Devine
Purgatorio - :10:
All the Children are Dead - Venetian Snares
Order by Noise - Kovert
Meta Abuse - Venetian Snares + Speedranch
Toward The Elimination of Mankind - Full.System.Failure ;)
Lucid - Locust Star
IX - Hecate
Surface Antigen - Viral Lode
Constriction - HALO
Skelechairs - Doormouse
Firebeats - Venetian Snares and Speedranch
Deprivation - Halo
Mouth full of dog - sicklecell666
Bliss of the Illuminated - sicklecell666
Blood on the rope - nymphomatriarch
Running - The Wretch
noisefcuk - :10:
StarBelly - Pig Destroyer
Glass Tornado / Letterbomb - Agoraphobic Nosebleed

So, are any of you plotting any sort of halloween / samhain events out there?

Anything you guys think I should add?

Ah, I wondered about that sig... pretty cool sounding idea tho. You should record your set 8) I bet it would be an interesting listen.

Did you grab that pack of pre cut samples out of old PD horror movies that someone was offering around here not too long ago?

makes me wonder if I'll be able to set up stuff to do anything live, or if it would be worth it at all... hmmm

I'd add Armenia by Einstürzende Neubauten and Aumgn by Can, among others...

Post

Aumgn by Can is a ace suggestion!! :D

Pure by Whitehouse might be good for a giggle when everyone is wasted :-o

Play some Wolf Eyes or Hair Police as well for the more, er, quiet interludes

Personally i'd add "the superbowl shuffle" by the 1980's chicago bears superbowl team. Gets them all dancing everytime. I hope some of you know what i'm talking about. Otherwise my joke is in vain.

Anything from the Sickness Of Snakes/Nightmare Cultures EP[1] will do nicely.

Groet, Erik

Coil with Boyd Rice and Current 93 respectively.
Pop music delenda est.

The first two Current 93 records 'Nature Unveiled' and 'Dogs Blood Rising' are invaluable for this purpose, as is Diamanda Galas' 'Litanies of Satan'.

BTW Erik, Sickness of Snakes is just one side of that EP. Current 93 were themselves, though Boyd does do a cameo toward the end of their side.

Post

Title track from Mercyful Fate's The Oath would be fun...

Maybe some Noisegate or Nachtluft, too...

Post

Ooh, indeed!!! Coil, Diamanda Galas, Whitehouse, and maybe some skullflower soon to be added.

I've never heard Can or Current 93 before, so will have to look them up...

Still pondering doing a short live solo noise set on the evening....Did some wicked live improv guitar noise this weekend just sitting around... pretty minimal set up, but insanely dense and heavy... hmmmm

Post

never heard can :falls over:

not that current 93 arent great as well but even my mums heard can :o
