Has your gear addiction led you to financial trouble?

Never. I only buy whatever I can, whenever I can, always after paying bills and food.

Naaah. I just use my credit card to purchase gear and pay for it in a month or two.

I'm only kidding. The fact is that I have no social life, and only buy the odd bit of software here and there. I spent quite a bit when I was first starting out but quickly realised I'm too shit to bother spending big bucks on this stuff...:)

I am not in any debt at all, buying gear doesn't get in the way of things I need...but for the most part when I spend money on me I have a fairly one track mind....like for instance my leather jacket...all beat up, doesn't zip anymore...the pocets are just holes now (but those zippers work) but I'll buy gear before I replace that. Last winter I wore sneaks all winter with big holes in the bottom...I didn't replace them until spring...but I bought my share of gear.

I wont let my family go without anything (my daughter gets a little spoiled) but after that ....though after recent events, I'm out of things I really want as far as gear goes...;)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Preach on! I used to buy so much stuff that came along when I was a newbie brainwashed by mags like Computer Music and FM. Now I've got way too mujch sh1t that I never use and I've learned to just dig in and use what I've got, and now I'm actually making music instead of collecting gear.
A well-behaved signature.

A friend of mine at work got himself into something like $40,000 of debt buying music gear in the 80's. He's almost paid it off.

Gear porn is definitely evil. But I find KVR even worse in that sense. Everytime a new synth comes out, it turns out to be the *best* synth ever and people just have to have it.
