AudioWhore, I do agree that I haven't taken as much time to delve into other some of the other FM capable synths... However, I have tried sytrus, Cronox, Zero Vector, and Dr008. I'm sure many people prefer those synths over others or FM7. However, I found FM7 to have the friendliest, easy to read user interface, with the largest amount of accessible quality presets. Also, Carbon, Photone, and the electronic instruments volumes I mentally included with Reaktor when I made my list. I think you're jumping to conclusions a bit by suggesting most of us don't know our way around programming vsts, or we purposely ignore other vsts to push the greatness of the FM7 and remember - this is only an opinion.

ah im pretty sure most people are lazy preset twiddlers! Maybe not the people that post here but in general :)

HI

1)RM4 - because I use it the most.

2)WusikStation/Manytone and associated expansions/soundbank's - because they give an astounding selection of sounds for a price that put's the competition to shame!

3)Zero Vector - because it excites me; even though I have not used it much in the little time I have owned it.

4)Reaktor 5 - as it is a potentially limitless resource for sounds of almost any type you can think of.

5)M42 - because I can find a place for it in much of what I do; ooh - those ambient soundscapes.

6)Exciton - because it is simply an extreme VA that still blows my socks off?!

No such thing as the best - merely a selection of favourites - the list could go on ...

Flipper.
