"Alaksa" and "Hercules Synth" - no sound

Just bought Rhino 2.03, using it in Sonar 5 PE. When I call up either of these patches I get no sound, and worse yet no sound is produced when calling up any patch after I load one of these two. Unloading and reloading the synth does not help. I have to completely delete it from the song, and re-add it to get the sound to start happening again.
I tried this with both the included VST adapter with Sonar, and with DirectiXer. Both methods produce the same result.

Yep that was it. I edited my own post, but for some reason my edit when away.JerGoertz wrote:Try reclicking the Sonar audio engine button (it probably got shut off).
So, any clue why this happens? Also, should I be careful about changing patches while there is sound coming out? Normally, I get a minor little buzz, but a few minutes ago I got a momumental ear-frying series of crackles when I did this...had to stop the audio to get it to go away.

Not sure about the 2nd question.
As for the 1st, I've seen this happen with a lot of different synths while changing patches; basically CPU usage will spike thereby kicking out the audio engine. I never had this on my old desktop (1.3 GHz Athlon Thunderbird) but now do on my Athlon 64 3200+. It must be something about that the new processor; it's almost like a denormal except those were supposed to be in Intel, not AMD!

A well-behaved signature.

I haven't got Sonar 5 yet, so I'm not sure if this'll work. In earlier versions there is an entry in one of the .ini files which can be edited to adjust Sonar's audio engine CPU dropout sensitivity.

Cool I'll look into that. It's probably still there.Collusion wrote:I haven't got Sonar 5 yet, so I'm not sure if this'll work. In earlier versions there is an entry in one of the .ini files which can be edited to adjust Sonar's audio engine CPU dropout sensitivity.
