While this thread has descended in good old KvR fashion, it's a pleasant change to see BONES defending Image Line.

FWMHIW, DirectWave looks superb - the sample VSTi function is going to be so useful.

After checking out the videos, I'm thoroughly confused with all the new features- and I couldn't be more excited!

I try so hard to not get fanboyish about stuff, but after watching those vids, I'm just totally stoked about this software. I'm so glad I invested in this way back when. I can recall being so confused about how it worked, but now it's such a pleasant experience for me. I mean, each little addition is just so perfect. The way we'll be able to split the bands in the new EQ and send them to their own mixer strip is just incredible to me because of what it will allow with drums and delays. And to be able to automate that in such a creative and simple way just makes it all the more incredible. I can hear the amazing panning things that are going to be mine! And the new sampler is so straightforward that I can't hardly believe it.

The mixer changes ought to really get people looking at this software again, too. Man, I'm just flat out stoked.

I'm from Alabama! He talks so quickly I can't keep up!
 :hihi:

 I wonder if our European friends found that as funny as I did. (I'm in Virginia, by way of Texas).

Pardon my French, but HOLY SH!T-CAKES!!!! DW can auto-sample and auto-map from vsts?!

Looks like DW is set to be one of the best samplers around. Congratulations! :)

Whoa. That part of the video totally blew me away.

I'm wondering though: Does it save the individual samples to .wav? Can we access them as playable samples from outside Direct Wave?

Gee... I own a third-party sampler (Kontakt2), but it's nice to know that if I want to "go native" in FL, I won't have to map multi-samples using the Layers function anymore! :bang:

I've been an FL user since 2000 and I think that the Direct Wave Sampler is the coolest thing Image Line have made so far. It really looks like it's going to be extremely powerful.

Well I'm from Australia and I also found him very hard to listen to! :) I think they should have made the video just a few seconds longer so he could slow down

That 8 stage delay is gonna be a dub festival of love. Series or Parallel with filter and grain states for each stage! Oh man, I'm loving this. I hope it comes out really soon. I could get a lot done before the end of the year...

He slows down after a while. But I like the fast talking. It sure beats the "I'll say it slowly and then repeat it because you're a dimwit knuckle-dragging rock-ape" which is the usual technique.

Sure, DW creates 32-bit float WAV file(s) with bundled MIDI information and a propietary small program file when saving programs. So it's straight to use and map them in other sampler.

This sampling feature will, methinks, mean the creation of a whole lot of little Atmospheres and Colossuses etc as all the good synths get the "auto-sample" treatment....

I might even be able to use the big pads sounds out of Z3ta+ at last !

OMG. If this thing is stable (and FL tends to be), then it's gonna be amazing.

Not really : The video's are just tutorials but as FL6 isn't out yet we've put them online as previews for our users.

Stuff like the tutorial video's, samples, ... are some of the few things we can offer our paying users over those using a warez version.

On top of that I don't think we'd find a server willing to host them 'publicly'.

See ya,

Has it been determined which packages will recieve DirectWave in the update yet?
