Im wondering if you can purchase the EMULATOR X and PROTEUS X CDRoms and use them with another vsti sampler other than Emu's Emulator/Proteus. I cant seem to get used to that sampler and would like to know if there is another option for importing these sounds. Thanks.

I dont know of anything which currently imports/converts the format.

How much sense would it really make to import these somewhere else? The programs contain effect settings. How much of the original sound integrity would you loose?

if it was even remotely close, i could work out some effect settings myself. i was using the original bank that didnt even have the effect settings stored. i find the emulator to tax too much cpu. some presets that i play shoot to 40% CPU alone. i dont like the interface and i never use all those features. just give me the sample laid out correctly and some standard settings and im good to go.

In emulator X what would I export them as? and do you know if this is also possible in Proteus X LE?Would VSampler or CDXtract be able to read what is extracted? I currently have those two. I heard some bad things about the CHICKEN but may give it a test run. Anyone? Thanks.

I was talking about the CD-roms that come with the EMULATOR X software package.
Are you saying you can do some conversion from hardware? or are you just saying this because the software roms are replications of the hardware?

i would buy the e-mu CDs if this translation could be done; it's not possible to pull the raw samples out of the hardware (well, not without a completely crazy amount of work :) so my interest is the same as yours.jack-the-pipe wrote: ???

... The "CD-ROMs" he is refering to are those which come WITH the E-mu sound cards, e.g EmulatorX/ProteusX - etc. and (TMK)are not available (at least as yet), seperately, or at least with out a valid 'registration' of an E-mu card.(not positive though)tomax wrote:i would buy the e-mu CDs if this translation could be done; it's not possible to pull the raw samples out of the hardware (well, not without a completely crazy amount of workjack-the-pipe wrote: ???

The format in question is (Emulator)"X" specific - just as the old EMAX format is specific to THAT sampler.

It's some time ago that I came across it in the web. Sorry, but I don't remember where it was. It looked pretty legal to me. Maybe try a search with Mo'phat and sf2 or soundfont.jack-the-pipe wrote:where?telebunke wrote:IIRC, there was a Mo'Phat CD available in SF2 format
