Kovacs,

Your picture is cool looking. It has a professional flair to it that really set the bar pretty high for the rest of the pix that were submitted.

I would like to hear the story.

Here's what some have suggested back probably 20 pages ago:

It looks like you are preparing for a bucket of water about to be dumped on your head.

So, what's the REAL story?

By the way, Utm, the updated site looks great.

Bucket of water,.

Actually, this picture is very special to me. When my wife was pregnant with our first child (I have two daughters), a friend of mine who is a professional photographer asked if he could create a photo journal for a national newspaper. The idea was that he would follow me through the pregnancy as the expecting father, since everyone is so focused on the mother during that time.

So he went with us to all the meetings with doctors, other expecting parents, etc etc...and he was even present at the birth - which happened at December 24, 2000 - a grand slam for the newspaper which has a Christian readership.

I happen to be an atheist so it was particularly funny to be compared to Josef at the birth of Jesus exactly 2000 years before (especially since Josef is not Jesus' biological father, but that is a different matter entirely). :)

Anyway, the photo is taken at an ultrasound procedure at the hospital. It shows the exact moment where I see the image of my unborn daughter for the first time, at a monitor hanging from the ceiling. It has become one of my favorite images.

The full version shows my wife down to the left, in bed, with an equally happy look on her face. ;)

OK, that is a cool story - certainly trumps mine.

Here's my story for my pic.

I'm thinking to myself, "Kovacs has that cool looking picture - looks professionally done, etc. I've got no pix of myself that I can think of - time to snap some shots, but jeez, why did Kovacs have to set the bar so high?"

So I setup the digital camera in the living room on a tripod (while wife and kids are wondering what I'm doing); set it to black and white - cuz that always shows the more 'artist in turmoil' look, right? Then grab my acoustic and try to have a serious, pensive look on my face while my wife and kids are cracking up at dad trying to take pictures of himself being all serious.

My wife picked out the one (after laughing at the bulk of them) that made it onto the site and I just cropped it to Utm's guidelines, kindly avoiding the chrome-dome bald spot at the top of the original photo.

Hi all. I just finished with the last round of edits/alterations to the site. Hopefully we're all caught up and the legacy image links work as they used to.

Sorry for the confusion.

Has anyone had trouble with any images on the web site - especially the developer logos - not displaying correctly?:

I have heard of an incident where they were being blocked by someone's firewall, but I can't figure out why. :?
