Here's a super cool Mellotron made with 14 old Walkman tape players and a Casio keyboard. It's fully funtional and there's some song samples on the site. Impressive work!

Yeah I guess some people like to make music and others like to make instruments. Did you see any of his other creations like the Booji Board commissioned by Devo?

he surely could change the casettes, couldn't he?

b.t.w: I bet you know that the original Mellotron-sound-casettes (or however they might be called) had only three sounds... - so Tony Banks (the keyboarder of Genesis) had his Mellotron always open during a gig and he managed to change the sounds on the fly within just a few seconds during a song...

weird - the first Walkmans came out in 1980 or 1981... (and they were ridiculously expensive back then...)

The first Walkman was introduced in 1979.

nope - it's a name - you can't do that to names...

1979 might be but not in Europe afaik... (Throbbing Gristle are from London) - at that time new technology was always introduced to the U.S.A. way before it arrived in Europe...
