http://www.sounder.com/index.php This was a brilliant piece of software, hooked up to my mQ I could just listen to this for hours. Anyone know of anything similar in the VST world? Its not been updated in about 178 years.

It still works - I have composed several pieces on my site with it - it works brilliantly with my Creamware system as I don't need to use a loopback to hook it into a VST host or synth. I wish there was a VST version but as it is it does the job

Looks kinda neat! I'm going to d/l and have a listen. Is it like Reaktor's Metaphysical Function? Or more "musical"?aMUSEd wrote:It still works - I have composed several pieces on my site with it - it works brilliantly with my Creamware system as I don't need to use a loopback to hook it into a VST host or synth. Reminds me of an old program I used to run. It would scan your hard drives for any .wav files and randomly create soundscapes from them by playing them back at different speeds, and with somewhat musical repetitions. It worked alot better than the concept sounds, even the default windows effects weren't too annoying.

Holy cow! I think I know this program! I just d/l'ed it and was laughing at the setup screens! Win 3.1 stuff! I was an old dude when that came out! Ahahahahahahaha! Yeah, about 178 years ago.yrone wrote:http://www.sounder.com/index.php This was a brilliant piece of software, hooked up to my mQ I could just listen to this for hours. I know! I cant think of anything short of learning CSound or something and getting a degree in math to get the ambient and random goodness that this thing would pump out. Its such a simple concept.

In the Mac world, there's a program called Critters that is a lot like this. Not that it helps you but a Mac person might find it useful.
Thanks for the giggle, I needed it.

Runs fine on mine and it's XP sp2. It's not really much like Metaphysical Function - on it's own it just plays midi but coupled with a softsynth it makes a wonderful algorithmic music generator.
