I just tried Surge yesterday, and I was highly impressed. So I thought I'd mention it too.

I should mention Edirol HQ Orchestra too, because it's so small in size, yet gives you a surprisingly complete orchestral solution that's very easy to use. Of course you can't compare it to big sample libraries that are gigabytes in size, but for its size it's very nice. (Although they really should drop the price on it as it's way too expensive compared to the newer competitions.)

Very hard to limit this list to only five....But if I was trapped on a desert island with only 5, these would be it.

Of course I didn't mention that I would HAVE to have, for instance, the PMI Grandioso Piano bundle to use with Kontakt2, and all the find banks of Rhino2 patches...

And it would be hard to live with Albino2, the Arturia stuff, Battery2, and on and on....

Okay, five pages and no one lists Babya? I thought it would tie MultiPing for top honors. Imagine if they were combined into one awesome synth. Or was that awful synth.
