IMO this kind of hostility here is getting a bit over the top here and really makes me wonder what kind of people have time to spice these kind of threads.

Anyway : We currently have about 60.000 paying users and (judging from what reaches our servers) 100.000s of warez users.

One way to reward users that bother to pay for the software is by offering them online support, video tutorials & content that's not provided on warez boards & P2P services.

We didn't post these video's (or there existance) here. I can only asume & hope 'Soulkraka' is a registered users that copied the link from our site & forums.

But what's there to crack ?

FL6 & DirectWave aren't released (or even ready) yet.

Once it's released everyone will be able to download & try out the fully functional, non time limited, non beeping, wave & mp3 rendering, midi exporting, ... save disabled demo and see if he likes it our not. I think it's gonna be hard to find a more functional demo than the FL Studio demo.
soma wrote:convincing people that the features are so great that they want to rush to the store and buy it.
People that are not convinced by the demo will not be convince by the video tutorials either.
soma wrote:I'm not selling software however so I assume you know what you are doing more than I do.
I wouldn't know : There's no science that tells/learns us how to convince warez users to buy the software they are using. Juding from the number of users we have converted in the past we can only hope we're doing it in the right way.
soma wrote:I must say though, as a potential customer, I am a bit annoyed that I can't view the videos
I can only repeat that the video tutorials, samples, support forums, collab, ... are the only things we have to reward our paying users and that *we* didn't post the existance of those tutorials here.

I really liked the videos, I can't wait to use that new mixer.

I don't get the big deal some are making about not being able to view the vids. NI does the same as do several other companies. They are tutorials not promotional items. Similar thing to manuals. Most wont allow you to download them unless you are a registered user.

You want a promotional item, download the demo when it comes up available at Tucows when FL6 is released.

Now JMC, about the DW tutorial, will there be a version of it with the guy not on speed ;) Damn he speaks fast.

That was very restrained. :wink:

FL V6 is shaping up as one of the best IL releases ever. Revamped mixer, delaybank and directwave look brilliant. And going on past experience everything is usually very stable even at x.0 rleaese.

And don't slowdown the presentations, I like all the info packed in !

Indeed!!!!!!! You could also use the pause button.

Man, a video is not going to deter or encourage warez use of FL. Its just an arrogent way of saying ,"we are Imageline we have a name to uphold" (with there noses in the air)... And any paying FL user knows that the initial distro's are ALAWYS buggy anyhow. Common just release the dayum video, whos with me (crickets start cherpin)?

Spoken like a true idiot (or angst-ridden prepubescent). You can go ahead and take your pick.

Go ahead, Bring it on!

JMC- sorry. I honestly wasn't trying to flame. I'm glad to know that the demo will be fully functional and contain a demo of the new generators. Can't wait to try it out! ;)

Hi JMC

Yes, I most certainly am a registered user. I bought FL at version 4 and have been very pleased with where you guys have gone with it since. Thanks!
Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good

i just watched the videos, and i'm very much looking forward to version 6. i'm not going to get all worked up about when the release date is, but i will be one happy man that day. the delay bank and EQUO both look to provide some serious mangling possibilities. i wasn't really all that interested in the DirectWave sampler until i saw the brief clip and it looks quite amazing too.

Ha ha. We'll all be happy until we try to get our reg codes off the website. :hihi:

Seriously, though, I always find the bashing of Image-Line's business model to be kind of weird. I mean, this is a company that gives lifetime free upgrades to registered users who purchase their software as a download... not to mention handing out the Demo that does just about everything but save project files, and never self-destructs.

same. I also hate:

* "Tarnce" & "Curnk"
* "My secret weapon is Metal Mickey.. oh damn i just told everyone"
* Anything about BT
* OnePingOnly
* People pretending to be warez users by using all capitals and using incorrect spelling for their entire post while making obviously ridiculous statements

those jokes aren't funny any longer, and they certainly weren't a f ucking riot to begin with.

=)

Yeah this new sampler looks wonderful

I don't quite get what you mean but :

DirectWave will be a $79 plugin ($49 for XXL owners).

We don't know yet what content will be free for everyone and what will have to be purchased.

Relax guys... When FL6 is available everyone can see DW. Its not even out yet - hell we dont even know when yet... relax.

As a paying customer all I have seen is a preview of a product that I cant have YET... I'll get a chance to play with the demo the same time as everyone else - thats cool.

BTW - I might add stumping up for FL was one of the better moves I made. I really enjoy using it :)
