Oh, and early Subotnick's one of my passions. I love his Buchla stuff. Don't like his digital works so much. I have a small collection of his work on vinyl (Wild Bull, Silver Apples of the Moon, Sidewinder) . . . would like to have a complete set of his analog works.

I've updated Bank 3 on the krakli website.. It now contains a total of 75 new patches including some from emdot_ambient and some bloke called Tim Conrardy :hihi:

I have ~26 I will send you in a few hours, after work.

actually, that's not cool, is it? Let me say this;
I have some I will send and if there is room, please enjoy, otherwise I suck :).

So the notation on the site that bank 3 is a partial is not actually correct any longer or is less partial? Oh, hell, I'll just download it and find out. :D

Cygnus is amazing. This is a movie soundtrack writers dream come true. These sounds could be used on a lot of TV shows too. Many thanks to Krakli Software, Tim Conrardy, and the preset creators.

indeed as ive always said ian deserves "masterbuilder" as an avatar :D

Ian has always made invocative plugs and brings to the limit what SE can do.

I bet h'ed make good beer too!!

but Ian: remeber that little additive synth you made, and I did a bunch of presets for it? ( 2 years ago??) It would be great to release that too, AS IS, a bonus little synth. I had it installed on my Receptor, and the musers had my unit for repair, and came across it, and thought it was very cool and asked me about it.well...just a thought. :-)

I'm confused by the automation parameters for Cygnus. There's something like 25 controls named 'A' and another 30 or so named 'JoyX'.

I'm also trying to get my head around the sequencers. How do they work? Any hope for a tutorial on programming this beast?

Please forgive my ignorance. Cygnus is really a treat. Thanks again Ian and Co.

well..Ian confessed about 5 pages ago that he is not too good at labeling automation.

RE: SEQ: basically the key is in the AMOUNT control. You can use the sequencers as LFO's or full fledged tuned sequencer. There is also a glide control which helps in making LFO type effects more smooth.Hows that?

Post

Speaking of that sequencer . . . I really wish I could see the numerical readings on each of the slider values.

I was first to mention the issue with the automation labels, but does this thing work via cc? I'm not very well versed in using cc commands to control synths, and haven't tried doing so with Cygnus yet.

Post

I know that the labels for automation are crap, but you have to balance the amount of time that I want to spend refining these things with the fact that they are free, and that I get too excited to release them and so I'm not as thorough as I should be with internals, labelling etc..

The versions that are on the webpage now do have some CC mappings and I asked for somebody to try these out about 12 pages ago as I haven't got the first clue how to make them work in my hosts.. Ho-hum..

Incidently Ben has made Cygnus available for reviews now so perhaps you might want to post one up (or perhaps not)
