I'm writing music for a commercial that will be in the movie theatres here in bergen. Big THX theatre
i've tested my own sketchy rough mixes on some big home theatre systems, and it's obvious that I will be struggling, and the deadline will be short.
They (the people making the commercial) will be deciding from a couple of ideas that I am densing to them, and when they give one the green light, the mix has to be finished very quickly after that.
Someplace else will do the dialogue+music mastering.
so.. help.
Right now it seems like a very sparse club'y track is what they are going for.
the commercial is only 30 seconds long btw.
so if you:
- mix much better than me (i've mixed music that has been played on everything from MTV to discovery channel, so i dont totally suck myself)
- can receive all the music stems in a big zip file sent to you via yousendit.com or messenger or something
- can accept that all the stems arent the best due to short time, for example, some will be loops i've made in reason, and i most likely wont have the time to seperate out the individual percussive sounds.. so one stem will be 808 kick and snare.. one will be tambourine and triangle.. etc. (i guess since they like the spare clubby sound, there will be max 15 stems)
- send back a fantastic mix within two days
- have examples of your work somewhere that convinces me that my own mixing sucks compared to yours.. perhaps even in the right music genre
- dont cost an arm and a leg (a rib max)
then let's talk
uhmm.. I hope it is okay to post things like this here? I'm not violating any forum rules, am I?
