that's why I tune on the fly...

I can really go for some extreme bends, I don't use some sissy pedal to get those tones...actually bends are how I take a break. The funny thing is even though all factors would point to me breaking a lot strings I never do (I even use my own brass picks)

Sometimes tuning may effect this, but my main tuning compared to standard is same, same, up a whole step, up a whole step, up a half step, same (EAEACE) Which is more tension on half the strings...but still few breaks...though it's usually the third string (normally the D) that breaks when I do break one...

I've been using .011 D'Addario strings for all my electrics for many years. On the acoustics, I use .012, as they are very close to the .011 sets that I'm comfortable with. If I am playing a lot, I'll bump up the plain strings to .012/.013. In addition, I use the Jim Dunlop Stubby's (3mm) picks.

3rd string obligatory wound, sometimes second too(depends oftuning)

Recently moved to 11's

never thought this would happen. F#ck, many moons ago I'm sure I used to use 8's, you just can't get these today, or at least they are incredibly rare. Did they really exist?

Different for different guitars, styles and tuning.

9's for bendy stuff, through-body guitars and country.

10's for Les-Paul scale toploaders and heavier rhythym on teles and such.

Going for some 11 guage flatwounds for open G slidey stuff...that should be interesting.

...and whatever is lying around for acoustics. I just put a set of elixers (That I found on my floor)and I hate them. They sound all bright and tinny, and the goofy wrapping is coming off of the D string from strumming.

Pure crap, and expensive at that.
