Delayed pitch shifting

Well I did it this way:
Put a delay 100% wet on the track and a pitch shifter afterwards. Volumes set so that the microphon records what the speakers produce without getting that nasty feedback sounds.
When you speak you get the spocken sound delayed and pitchshifted which is re-miced and gets delayed and pitch shifted another time and so on.
Well, I hope I made myself clear.
This is a pretty cool effect. Is there a simpler way of achiving this?

while not a 'true' pitchshifter Morphing delay's ability to accelerate/deaccelerate might give you the sound your after.
Think Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
anyway its a blast to use and well worth 20 bucks.
