I was meaning in the context of the sound on that track. With the acoustic drum kit and geetar they were going for that live sound rather than another-chopped-break sound, but I thought the snare rolls were a bit rigid, thats all. They're superb at what they do anyway, kudos to them. I find all the haters quite entertainingnibbzious wrote:Hunter wrote:I'm not too keen on the drums on this track, they are obviously programmed with that machine gun snare on the roll. Shames as their drums are usually spot on, genius producers.I umm.. not sure what you're saying? Pendulum's drums have always been obviously mechanical.

I like the track. Who made it?

It's a "remix" of a "Prodigy" track by "Pendulum" - hence the file name
Pendulum have a big DnB-ish album out called Hold Your Colour that's getting some attention at the mo.

Best wishes, FRitz

no no, that's what bowie sings when that cool bass-line kicks in the "I'm Afraid of Americans" Trent Reznor mix (same bassline as pendulum remix of voodoo people)

Yeah, that pendulum remix is probably one of the best tracks in the whole 2 CD set (though I guess I've heard everything else sooo many times but it's still cool).
Anyways, my question is this. That "Voodoo Beats" track on the second CD, I always thought that that was a Chemical Brothers remix of Voodoo People but there's no mention of the Chemical Brothers in the liner notes or on the back of the CD case. Is there a different Chemical Brothers remix of Voodoo People? Is that track on MTV AMP the same track ?(because it sounds almost the exact same as far as I could tell with the small lofi clip on amazon.com).
What gives? anyone know anything about this?

And Tarantula, which is weapons grade cheese and rocks the fcuking hut.impulse one wrote:I agree.. lots of cheese, but then a few great tracks like 'Still Grey' as well.I find pendulum wow you at first with their mastery of production, but under all of that is really some throw away music. That said Back to You, the intro is amazinG
I find a lot of Pendulum's stuff is a bit over-egged, but that tune is more or less certain to make me dance like a monkey on drugs while grinning from ear to ear every time I hear it.
<Aside><troll>And I have rather little time for people who want drum and bass to become a beautifully produced but stagnant genre listened to a small and increasingly irrelevant elite. Let's get these boys on top of the pops, dammit.</troll></Aside>

i had a friend that was able to get a similar snare sound with BFD. Seriously though, do you think he just sampled a bunch of snare hits and kick hits until he found the sounds he liked? Those drums all sound really full. definitely studio recorded and heavily processed.
