ds404 crashes in cubase se3

ok so i know the ds404 MIDI controllers run from 75 upwards but i accidentally sent controller 2 info to it in cubase se3 and it crashed the program. tried it with controller numbers 3 & 4 & does the same. seems to recieve the correct ones ok. seems to work ok with se1. Any help would be appreciated.

If Cubase SE3 is based on a higher Cubase version than SX1, DS404 is not compatible. We don't recommend that you use it in any host based on Cubase SX2 or after.

Dave. Thanks for that. SE3 is indeed based on the SX3 engine. I'm beginning to wish I'd stuck with SE1 now as I'm having a few problems with inputs/outputs as well but that's another story! I love computers!
