I was wondering if it was BS so I looked up "Bark bands". According to thisthere's 24 of them so I don't know where the quoted "50 overlapping Bark bands" comes from - trying to blind us with science perhaps?

I seriously don't think it's a hoax.
But it's certainly some folks along the lines of Ihsan or so.

I loved this on their page:
System 1200 has been specifically adapted to the Behringer UB802 Mini-EuroRack mixer which can serve as both headphone amplifier with makeup gain, as well as providing some outboard equalization against which System 1200 can perform de-emphasis to preserve operating headroom.
Now, a plugin for 1500 bucks adapted to a sub 100 bucks mixer... yay!

damn, cant't you read? it reads (to me, a non native speaker) like it reanimates broken ears . The only doctor i know who could do this is dr. frankenstein, and he doesn't do surgery anymore, even if your inshurance is private, so 1500 bucks is sooooo cheap for wath it (claims) can do :P

LMAO!! Definitely a hoax. Just read that, it makes no sense, it's all double talk.

You know it's a hoax, because there are no purchase links on the site.

When you're selling $1500 plugs, you need easy access to the purchase for BOTH customers.

Yeah, been reading a bit more, must be a hoax.
But a good one at that - I mean, creating a full website and such... and they even offered some freebie to download.

Don't forget, GUI made using MS Paint. EDIT: (by a six year old). :hihi:

Yep, that's just a joke/hoax.
Ndct.

Actually makes you wonder how they made it into the KVR news.

I took a sawtooth wave off this Pantomime4, looped it back, mixed it with the sound of this crab committing suicide and let it stew in its own reverb for about 3 hours, then I pumped it all out through this shoe to give it that oak'y timbre.

Heh. You could extrapolate past 24 Barks as you go above (16kHz or so if memory serves?), but since the Bark scale is specifically a perceptual scale, it's a bit meaningless. I think the ERB scale goes up to around 46 ERB for 22kHz audio, though, so perhaps they used the ERB scale, rounded up to 50, and then accidentally called it the Bark scale? Certainly brings the rigorousness of their psychoacoustic model into question, though...
