My DXi in Sonar have disappearred!

I am having a problem with the Sonar 3PE Synth Rack that I can't figure out. I have hundreds of VSTi, and when I bought a new hard drive I started a new VST folder for some of them. Somewhere along the line(not sure when, just as I was collecting more and more VSTs) a problem developed where if I did'nt take all my plugins from the other drive out of the adapter the Synth Rack would not show my DXis anymore. I'm talking about Cyclone, Dreamstation, VSampler, all the bundled ones. I don't think it affected my Sonitus FX, but me Revalver disappearred, and I need that plugin desparately. Now if I open old projects the plugs are still there but for new projects they're gone. So I had to remove all the d/ drive plugs from the adapter and got my DXis back, but I wonder why this happenned at all. Is there an upper limit to the number of plugs the Synth Rack will hold? Btw, this also includes bringing up synths in the FX bin.

Yep, it's a bug in Sonar's handling of DXis that still hasn't been fixed even in version 5 (native VSTi support my ass!). The only thing I can offer in terms of a solution is to either: 1. Get another program that actually handles the VSTis for you (FL Studio, Bidule, Chainer) and use that instead of wrapping the VSTi for working in Sonar or 2. delete from the adapter some of the lesser used plugs, we all have some. Repeat until you see your Sonar DXis appear once again.

That's really nice to know, man. Thanks. I was wondering what awful worm or something I'd picked up from one of these VST downloads. Well that's fine, I have the Magix Music Studio adapter(only thing I kept when I deleted that confusing program) and it's real good for removing whole folders from the Cakewalk adapter. No worries.atomic_afro wrote:Yep, it's a bug in Sonar's handling of DXis that still hasn't been fixed even in version 5 (native VSTi support my ass!).
