I tried it a while back and got lousy performance but I liked the idea a bunch!
I just saw rockatve released a new synth called Universal that looks interesting.
Just wondering what the state of Rockatave software is now. It felt a like a work in progress before.

I found this Rocktave stuff to be underwhelming and I seem to recall some nasty trolling by the developer. I would stay away.

It is interweb lingo for baiting. A troll will post something outrageous, waiting for someone not in on the joke to take the bait and fly off the handle.reprznt wrote:just curious.... what is trolling?
However, I was there during the ugliness, and the rocktave guy wasn't trolling, exactly. He was an asshole in that thread, but he was also pretty heavily under attack, so I can't blame him for lashing out a bit. But there are certain types of responses, bigoted in nature, that once made, placely someone firmly on my ignore list, of which this guy is on for things he said in that thread. He had a support forum here for a short time, too, and seemed a bit difficult to deal with, and a bit defensive to questions.

wow... thank you. I do not think a developer should be trolling. In the name of good business,,,, why would you want to make enemies?

Sorry, guys, if I misused the term "Troll". The reasons you've laid out there are exactly what I meant. I thought troll just referred to a lousy disposition.shamann wrote:It is interweb lingo for baiting. But lousy is a subjective term... posting inflammatory messages however, that's pretty objective. I mean, many people here have lousy dispositions imho, and other people applaud them!!

enough trolling
(I think it comes from dragging a net when you fish BTW)
Anyone actually use Delta SP as a sequencer? As a VST maker?

The whole thing seemed to be a big misunderstanding at first, that turned into a big ugly mess after a while. Doing a search here seems to suggest that the thread was deleted.Andrew Vernon wrote:But lousy is a subjective term... posting inflammatory messages however, that's pretty objective. Part of the problem was I think that every one expected deltasp to show a little grace under fire, even if some of the attackers went overboard. You know how some of those threads can go, his behaviour wasn't in any way different than how a lot of this web forum shit goes, the issue mostly just was that someone selling something is usually held to a higher standard. Which is maybe odd and unfair, but that's how it goes.
Any way, I've always thought Delta SP was interesting software, certainly the plugin builder had some nice features, but for me it was all the other stuff (synths, sequencer, sampler) I just had no use for. Didn't hate those functions, just wasn't interested in them. The plugin builder was integrated into the lot, so you would have to interact with other features in order to get the builder to work effectively. I just wasn't interested in dealing with that, and ultimately gravitated towards Synthmaker instead.
Spoonboiler (whatever he's called these days, zenotoxin or something) has said he's used Delta SP as a sequencer. Maybe he'll pop in.

The reason I ask is it reminds me of Buzz and Reaktor, two of my favorites.

I'm sure people were being hard on him (possibly me too, can't remember), and god knows people could use more restraint here sometimes - but I think businesspeople have to keep their cool, otherwise it makes your business look bad and unstable. Sure it seems like a double standard, but it'll payoff for the businessperson to stay cool. Like you'd want potential customers/investors you see you saying, "F*ck you, you pissant piece of sh*t m*therf*cker I'll tear your throat out..@$!#@%!"...shamann wrote:...Part of the problem was I think that every one expected deltasp to show a little grace under fire, even if some of the attackers went overboard. Users could get a payoff in stress reduction by staying calm, if possible.
Sorry, Soma. I digress.
