This is an email I just recieved from Shawn Davis, CCT Records. If you followed my thread, you'll remember how it ended - quite sourly. I was not prepared to sell my music for what they were offering, and I was not prepared to give up the copyright for effectively 70 years. Shawn just sent me this email:

ill tell you this veron people have told me that you are going around
telling people bad stuff about cct on websites regarding about being scewed
well ive got your address and if you keep this up just expect a visit im
not joking belive me ...were not screwing anyone we a good legitamate label
doing things by the book but trust me ive got your number and i will come to
london no worries if you keep this up ,,you are a sad twisted person and
..belive me you dont want to take this label on ..people are already
countering your claims and explaining what a joke you are so for your own
good give it up ..im not joking ...

So, if my body turns up in the Thames, you know who did it and why. I find this both disturbing and hilarious at the same time. Quite an odd feeling.

Sorry to hear about this.

However, I would never do business with someone like that! He does enough to make himself look bad with that email.

If they were so legit, why are they worried?

the twat cant even spell, so i wouldnt worry, he wont be able to read the street signs to find your house

Well bear in mind that I did start four threads - one here, one at Electromancer, one at CM/FM Forums, and one at Reasonstation. I never slagged them off, I merely shared my experience. Now if CCT can't deal with that in a non-violent way, then they're just proving everything I ever thought about them or him if he works alone.

What kind of a respectable label who "works by the book" would send a email like that? Tosser.

If I have the right site this is what they say their deal is:
"If you’re an unsigned artist making futuristic techno or breaks or broken beat, chillout, then you can sell your cds and records on the site with a 50-50 split deal we will send you a cheque when ur music is sold."

What kind of business uses "ur" and not "your"? Not professional...

I had a local booker/promoter contact me that types his e-mails like that. If a person can't send business correspondance in a professional manner I would be less than willing to do business with them.

I agree to a certain extent. My complaint isn't the inclusion of "ur" once but the fact that the writer didn't use "ur" in place of "you're" as well. A sloppy inconsistency; distasteful.
