LiveSlice is by far the easiest to use, lowest priced, best looking, best features that I've found for beatslicing and I want badly to purchase it, but it keeps crashing in Cubase SX3 :(

I just downloaded the newest version 1.02 or 1.03 which is stabler but still crashes after a few minutes of tweaking.

My specs:
Cubase SX3
P4 3.4Ghz
Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Rev 2.0
2GB RAM
2x 120GB Seagate SATA
EMU 1820

Don't worry, I'll fix that. Cubase is a hard-to-please host though. Could you zip and email me the file Cubasesx.LOG located in the cubase installation directory? email it to support at livelab dot dk, thank you.

Great work ohm, but I had similar problems in Tracktion 1.6. I ll try to make a more detailed description of the problem if you want.

Hi,
I'm back after having completely formatted and re-installed my PC in order to do some further tests with Live Slice v1.02 Demo
(I have used 2 vsti hosts to do the tests : Savihost and Minihost)

I have found a way to reproduce a major bug in Live Slice (which also occurs in Ableton Live...) :
1- Launch Life Slice
2- RMB on Clear button
3- LMB on any other button (for example Pitch, Reverse etc.)
4- :-o

This is also the kind of bug which I often (randomly) still get (even if I hadn't clicked on the Clear button before, which means that -may be - it is not necessarily the Clear button which is the problem?)

Also, (a minor bug :?:) it seems that I can't use the mouse-wheel anymore to scroll in the samples' explorer etc. :(

Anybody having the same problem ?

Again, thank you very much Jacob :)
Cheers,
Gil.

Same issue in Live here. Hitting the clear with LMB followed by quantize RMB crashed the host using 1.03

Best,

Gary

:-o - oops, nasty crash, sorry. Has been fixed. OCYL4T3 you meant clear RMB followed by quantize LMB right?

I've fixed some other bugs that could be causing the random crashes mentioned in this topic. Please everybody experiencing these periodic crashes, try redownloading the demo, it now reads v. 1.04.

Regarding the mousewheel, I found it only works in some hosts, Cubase and Jeskola Buzz works. Tracktion 1.6 ½ supports it, Energy XT doesn't support it at all. I'll see it there's anything I can do. GilJ - what host are you using?

I mainly use Ableton Live.
But I have also done the tests with Savihost and Minihost

v1.04 has fixed the bug with the clean button. Thanks a lot :D
...but has unfotunately not entirely fixed the random crashes :help:
Presently, it often crashes when I am browsing through samples, changing folders etc. (in Live Slice's explorer)
(I feel like it's a GUI issue :?: )

For the mousewheel, you are right, it does work in some hosts (but not in Live actually, well, this is from far, a minor issue compared to the random crashes  )

GilJ - do you mind contacting me by email? I'd like to send you a special version that writes a log file, so I can find this bug. Thanks. (support at livelab dot dk)

Do you know of a plugin that has mousewheel support in ableton live?

Post

i never had any issues in random crashes of live. perhaps it's an interaction to a tool running in the background on GilJ's comp or something else.

regarding mousewheel i checked posihfopit and that works.. i could set the q-value using the wheel.

Post

my guess is that Ableton Live does not send mousewheel info to the plugins, but please prove me wrong, And I'll look into it again.

GilJ I'd still like if you'd contact me by mail please, there's a possibility the bug you experience could affect others as well, and it's hard to know when it's fixed when your own systems show no symptoms.

sry, jacob, after my 2nd try it worked and i edited my post just before you posted your answer.
it seems that mousewheel-support does work somehow, but only some hosts do it natively. perhaps you could contact christian budde and ask how he implemented the mousewheel support in posihfopit.
