My Studio Projects C1 condensor mic has just stopped working. Anyone had such an experience themselves?

Anyone any idea where I could get it fixed (it's 2 years old and outtta warranty)

And if worst comes to worst, I can afford about £100 max. What best vocal mic for that price?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you check the cable and connectors? Maybe it's just a wire that got loose...

Know anyone that can lend you another mic cable, or that has a multimeter plus soldering iron??

Checked all cables. Definitely the mic. Opened it up, solid, nothing loose.

Looks like I need a new mic so, best bet for £100 ish?

This sounds like the best value, though I have never used it myself.

This one kind of surprized me when I tried it. Its cheap, and will probably not be around to be given to your grandchildren, but it sounds nice on male vocals.

another point to consider, is atmospheric conditions. i have a studio projects B1, which seems highly susceptible. unfortunately, where i live i can't do much about it, but in any humid or damp weather it dies, though not completely silent - just alot of near inaudible pops, fizz and so on. i found sticking it in a dehumidifying environment, e.g. an airing cupboard, revived it.

worth a try?

Actually, yes. I have a basement studio which I try to keep bone dry. Probably impossible to keep 100% though so, this could be the problem. Dont have an airing cupboard, hmm. Oven???
