My host of choice has always been FL. There are some parts it is lacking in I must admit. Recording audio has never been as good as others were, but then again FL never started out as that type of host. As for the internal instruments i'd had to go ahead and say they are rather mediocre, seems they are just put in there to fill up space. Sytrus for example, while being a powerful synth, is just as bones said, way too complex, there is so much stuff in there that it becomes bloated for the musician who wants to just create a certain patch and be done with it. Another example is the drum synth, it has to be one of the most horrible, one dimensional drum synths i've toyed with (and i've toyed with them all now, believe me.) For someone who is very dependant on setting up samples and creating loops it is magnificent, and it is still growing. I've never had any problems with FL, whether it be technical, incompatibility issues, workflow, etc. However, it is always smart to have a seperate host when you use FL to take on the tasks that FL does not easily handle.

I agree with most of those points. Those and the fact the FL's colour is not good for making music, thats what stopped me being one of Albania's greatest R+B artistsNo name wrote:My host of choice has always been FL. Well, 3xOsc is the only one that I know of that allows an envelope on Resonance.
BONES, As I said, its easier to put down ideas in FL, its easier to make them sound good in Reason. Doesn't mean that FL sounds worse or that Reason isn't good for putting ideas down. If there was a host that combined both I'd be happy.
And no, ReWire doesn't work because I can't automate through ReWire.
If your glasses weren't so pitiable, they might be funny.
(how do they actually stay on your head?)

1. I've made synths with that as a mod matrix option - its stupid.
2. Its easier to put down FL.
3. ReWire is also stupid, in the extreme. As are people who support Propellerheads in their effort to proprietarise music software protcols.
4. Are you kidding? They go all the way over to the back of my neck. Hence their name "Over-The-Top".
