I think it's time that some people other than Markus win some stuff...

Hey TB -- It's a great idea and a very kind offer mate.Techbot wrote:Apologies for delay. Freeztar helped me with this some time ago but I forgot to send it in. Haven't been active for a while.
Anyway the mastering is great. My first professionally mastered piece. thanks very much.
Should I start downloading all the tunes to run a special show a few times a week?
p.s fixed the bug on the radio show that occasionally chopped up Alex's sound bite.
We'll be in touch soon about it with maybe a new preview bite, etc.
Cheers,
Alex

Well, the way it works is if you choose to order, say 10 CDs, you have 10 chances to win, as opposed to only one chance if you order just one (which is still good odds anyway).arturmeinild wrote:I think it's time that some people other than Markus win some stuff...![]()
Markus has ordered several and thus his chances are way up there. More power to him and another BIG THANKS to Markus for doing so!!
Cheers,
Alex

It matters not; you've got the hat and that's really all that counts in the end....xander wrote:Can I snowboard you ask? no...
Maybe I'll submit an artist pic of me in my 100% sheep skin, Made In The USA, to-be-worn-only-while-shoveling-snow hat . . . then again, maybe not.

I have a few questions:
1. How many tracks out of the 40 tracks are mastered/approved?
2. What is the estimated date when the mastering will be complete?
I'm going to go out on a limb here; with no intended offense to xRavenx or ToTc; would it make sense to cut short the mastering effort and just get this thing released as quickly as possible?
I'm afraid that our PR efforts for the released version are going to be swallowed up by other catastrophic events.
I want to tell our local town newspaper about the CD, the local NPR music host, etc. But it's difficult to tell them about a project, when it seems there is no known release date.
Again, no offense meant to the Mastering Masters, but it seems to me that we are losing some potential ground here for boosting marketing other than to our friends and families.

1) more than half (edit: started last friday, to put this into relation)
2) November 7th, the same week the package goes to the pressing plant.
addition: we can always (and probably should since it makes sense) augment the current info on the project to state that the profis go to these relief organisations to aid katrina victims and those of the other hurricanes.. since we've had plenty, and might see even more at the rate this is going (hopefully not, of course).
That said, we do have a schedule and deadlines now, the first one being november 7th, the others we cannot yet make public, but soon will once we have fixed ones - the exact dates depend on the pressing plant, the amount of days they need for the pressing, the days it takes for the CDs to reach the distributor, and the few days it takes for them to be ready to ship them. We are working hard to get the CD out on the market well before christmas this year.

If you've read any of the national news lately, the victims of Katrina STILL need an immense amount of aid and assistance.
But even though our CDs are called Katrina Relief, the money will go to the Red Cross and Habitat For Humanity. If some of it goes to another disaster zone, all the better, yeah?
As far as marketing is concerned, we are only just now beginning the major portion of this, since we are so close to release (and there's only so many of us doing it...hint hint). We have a major US Newspaper (possibly more) and two huge radio stations lending a hand and support, so we're looking better than ever mate
Relax eh? We're right at that awkward stage -- kinda like the moments before birth.. breath in, and out, and in and out...
Cheers,
ALex
