PLParEQ1 and PLParEQ4 version 1.30 now available. All known problems have been fixed. Massive speedup again. I can run 2 simultaneous Quality 5 PLParEQ1's in Sonar 5 while rendering live without dropouts, but the CPU meter is showing warnings.
FL Studio 5 works at all Quality level settings, depending on the loading presented by all the other plugins.
Tracktion 2 shows even better performance than the others.
You may have to increase your ASIO buffer size to reach the highest Quality settings without crackles or dropouts during live streaming. I have mine pushed up to 512 samples for the above reported performances.

David, you're a machine! You don't happen to be related to Jorgen or Aleksey?
Cheers!

The initialDelay has been set in concrete to 8192 samples for all quality settings. You should no longer see any misalignment during renderings. But this does impose a delay of around 186 ms at 44.1.

Not really a problem in mastering. AFAIK the other 'big name' plugins/hardware that do linear-phase also have similar latency.dbmcclain wrote:The initialDelay has been set in concrete to 8192 samples for all quality settings. If running at 88.2 or 96 kHz sample rates, phase linear processing may appear worse at any given Quality level (because of the now-fixed latency issue.) Just use a Quality setting one level higher.
At level 5, all of the filters show zero artifacts on a 1 KHz carrier down to and below -140 dBFS (as far down as my spectrum analyzer goes in live rendering mode), regardless of sample rate or filter selection.

... there almost seems little reason now to provide more than 2 quality settings...
The difference in loading between level 1 and level 5 is only 4% on my maching at 96 kHz SR (from 18% loading at level 1 to 22% at level 5 phase-linear mode).
And at 44.1 kHz SR, we run from 13% at level 1 to 15% at level 5 -- all while also running a signal generator plugin and a realtime spectrum analyzer plugin.
So why not just use level 5 all the time?

I'm an astrophysicist by training... I work long long hours and all through the night. I'm getting older now, but my weeks used to include at least one 40 hour day....
(My wife thought that was just hyperbole on my part when she first met me, but then she tried to stay up with me....)

Do you think that you could possibly write a VST plugin that would somehow harness the power of a black hole in order to propel us off this rock for a little while? It's taking way too long to develop a decent propulsion systemdbmcclain wrote:I'm an astrophysicist by training... I work long long hours and all through the night. Heh! In doing some rendering at 44.1 level 5, my output is cleaner than the 1 kHz carrier under test...

Believe it or not, someone once postulated the notion that if we could lasso up a black-hole, then we could use it to warp space-time both ahead of us and behind us, and use it just like one uses a wave for surfing...

Heck, with this amazingly generous freebie you don't have to apologise a damn thing!
It's me who has to apologise tho.. sorry, I'm not going to buy your full 10 band product, this freebie is just too good.
