Q - How to use LiveSlice's MIDI outputs

How can I use the MIDI outputs when LiveSlice is in a Sequencer in energyXT?
I am thinking of using the MIDI to automate FX on LiveSlice's audio outputs.
I can see how to do this if I insert LiveSlice as an energyXT comp in the main modular window.

I just tried what you describe and I can't find any way to route midi from a VSTi loaded in the sequencer. I guess it's not implemented.
Note that you can always load an instance of energy XT in the sequencer and do the routing there. Just like you'd do with tracktions rack filters. Perhaps that's why Jorgen didn't bother implementing midi from VSTi's ?
I know midi from the track goes to the inserts, but that's a different story

Yep, I think you're right - inserting an eXT VSTi then putting LiveSlice in its main window with Insert Fx too should do it.
I'll experiment later.
thanks

Yep, that worked.
For anyone-else, this is what I did (it took longer to write this than to do it):
Start eXT Standalone:
- create a Sequencer and open it,
- set Sync Mode to Internal and tempo to the tempo I wanted,
- add an eXT VSTi to a MIDI track in the Seq.
Open the eXT VSTi:
- insert LiveSlice as a comp,
- add the VST FX as another comp,
- connect MIDI In to LiveSlice,
- connect LiveSlice MIDI and Audio to the VST FX,
- connect VST FX audio out to Master Out,
- insert my LiveSlice loops and Arrangements,
- open the VST FX and map the MIDI CC to the parameters to be controlled,
- save the project from here as LiveSliceFX.ext" or similar.
(I now have a VSTi which consists of LiveSlice plus FX, that I can load into any host.)
Now back in the Sequencer in the eXT host:
- edit the MIDI Parts to add notes at C1, C#1, D1 etc to play the Arrangements
job done.
[Don't know if this is any use for the manual?]

I'll add it to the manual right away, thanks. Additions are always welcome.
