Which would be good if they gave you anything worth having, like WaspXT, but they don't. So it isn't.Kriminal wrote:No, its def Reason, its limited because you can only use what THEY give you , not what YOU want to, unless you Re-Wire it, which is a joke.
i don't really mind the idea of the rack, except that it takes up less than half the width of my monitor. Even in a real, hardware studio I can have two racks so it shouldn't be much of a stretch for Propellerheads, should it? All it needs is an option somewhere for single or double width racks. What could be more obvious? [Apart from Cryogenic's lack of talent.]

That sure is some good points about Reason's "shitty" sound.
Quality can't be an issue with Novakill, so why go on about it. You could easily use an 8 bit tracker.

The entire point behind Reason is that its closed. It gives you anything that you could ever need to synthesize a sound, and more than enough to use samples (NN-XT is godlike). If you like what you made and want to keep it, you put it into a combinator and program the important knobs on it. No VSTs needed. I don't know where or how you think Reason has a shitty sound ... if it did, why do so many people use it?
The subtractor pretty much does all that WaspXT does. And it sounds good too, I gotta say. Not the exact same but no synth sounds exactly like another but many people can't even hear the difference in the first place. I haven't gotten into the Maelstrom yet but I'll see if that is any decent.
Yes, a double rack would be very nice especially for someone that (like you) has a larger screen, but maybe its in the works for Reason 4? We'll have to see. It works well on my 1024x768 screen and I think if I were to use it on a bigger one I'd keep the rack to the left and the sequencer tiled next to it so that I see everything at the same time.
Cryogenic, sorry, but I have to agree with BONES and Kriminal that you really are a dumbass
(or at least acting it).

Oh yeah, BONES, you never told me how you like my EQ setup .. you know, the one that Kriminal didn't like because he probably works at McDonalds himself and is ashamed of it so he insults others with it? Kinda like the kid that laughs about others being mama boys but is himself completely dependent on his mom?

Oh no! He has a nickname that is sooo original! I mean, really, nobody would have ever come up with an original nick name such as yours that relates to coldness! all the Ice* nicks etc. are all just posers!
And the sig isn't too better either

So you think both nickname and 'cool' signatures are important, and should be original.arke wrote:Oh no! He has a nickname that is sooo original! Good for you, and your selfesteem.
Too bad you stole your sig then.

Wavetable synthesis or wave sequencing for incredible, evolving textures? How about FM for metallic and other sounds? Phase Distortion is also very good for that, got any in Reason? Not even a nice Additive?arke wrote:The entire point behind Reason is that its closed. It gives you anything that you could ever need to synthesize a sound
Does it read soundfonts? AKAI format samples? Kurzweil?and more than enough to use samples (NN-XT is godlike).
Can't you just save a preset? If you like what you made and want to keep it, you put it into a combinator and program the important knobs on it.
Unless you want to use somethign that Reason doesn't have, like a Harmonic Resonator or Transient Shaper or an Impulse Response Processor. Or even a different distortion to the one yo ualways use, just for a change. No VSTs needed.
Refer to my earlier Toyota Corolla analogy.I don't know where or how you think Reason has a shitty sound ... if it did, why do so many people use it?
Except that it doesn't have a filter with anywhere near the sound of WaspXT's. Where Reason really fails is that it costs more than ll of its competitors and has no audio tracks. Sure, yo ucan use a sampler to hold and sequence all that stuff but it is an order of magnitude more effort and not really the ideal solution. And the effects in later versions may have improved but in v1 they were utter krap. Laughable, even, but that never stopped it from selling like snow cones on a summer's day.The subtractor pretty much does all that WaspXT does.
No, but I did mention that I cannot bring up the image, it times out when trying to contact geocities. Email it to me if you like... but read what I said before about the concept of showing a picture of something like that.Oh yeah, BONES, you never told me how you like my EQ setup

Dunno - but sometimes a lot of this shit just sounds bitter, kinda penis-envy almost.
Kids in a schoolyard - dissing each others trainers because they don't have the 'in' logo.
Bones you come across too damn defensive, sure orions good & obviously works for you - so fuckin what.
Give it a rest - how old are you actually (that's physical age, not mental)?

So I'm stuck in a hotel room in a strange city, on a rainy night and it passes the time. What's it to you? No-one's making you read it.
